He's Here
3am on May 1st I woke up Chris, called my mom to come over, then Jess to tell her we were headed to the hospital.
Jess was there for the delivery. I just remember the doctor handing me Brecken and looking up to see Jessica with tears in her eyes. I never thought I would allow anyone in the delivery room but she's like a second mom to my kids why not be there for the birth. I tohught for sure she would never want to have kids after this but was reassured with her words, "Next to my wedding that was the most amazing thing I have ever experienced.".
Just moments old.
( look at the arm rolls)
Three generations of Wilson boys.

The last thing I ate before I went to bed was Gelato. The first thing I ate post delivery was Gelato. Gotta love good friends!
Grandpa got to the hospital around 8am. I loved that Chris had his dad there. Jim even saved me from horrible heart burn by running to the gift shop for Tums. It was precious getting to have him there. He was also keeper of guessing the baby's weight, texting all the family members for their guesses and writing them down on the only paper we had a Dunkin Donuts box.
*A moment I always want to remember is when Jim and Chris were cleaning Brecken. I wanted to jump off the bed and capture it with pictures but something about not being able to move my legs prevented me from doing so. Forever grateful for the dad Jim taught Chris to be.
Love the profile. Love the perfect little ear. Love him!
His little swollen face makes him look like snuffleupagu
Chris has taken this shot with all three of our kids. It's funny to watch how much better he's gotten with the camera. Poor Statton, we bought our first SLR 3 days before he was born and had no idea what we were doing!
Newborns are the most spiritual experience. He is worth every ounce of lost sleep .
Looking around our hospital room we couldn't help but feel the love, flowers, balloons, cards and a constant flow of visitors. Made us so grateful we live by our loved ones.
Ready to go home! The first chapter in his Mommy Dearest Diaries, that years from now he'll bring up in counseling about his parents, is the outfit we put him in. Um, it's May, in Phoenix...by the time we got to the car we ditch the hat and jacket.
First day home
First morning waking up to 3 kids. interesting. everyone did better than expected.
Chris LOVES getting to give cradle cap hair washes.
Check out the balloon, "All hail King Brecken"
This is why he loves it so much, how relaxed a newborn gets with warm water and the sound of it.gigi's caption, "Okay dad you can hold him. but....
He's my baby!"
I might have carried and birthed him but Brecken belongs to Gigi. She loves him and wants to hold/hug/kiss him at all times!
Statt has taken to having a little brother the way I thought he would. He's thoughtful, tender, and loving. Oh, and he is a great helper.Sunday, April 22, 2012

Spontaneous Delight
It is too hot for this Prego lady to not have a pool around, so I had Chris set ours up this last weekend. Today I told whoever was coming over for co-op to bring their suits! In between preschool and co-op we ran to the store for S&G to pick out pool toys. All the kids played in the pool and had a blast. I went to go check on the Otter Pops, that should have been frozen, and came back to this.

In the preschool I help teach for Statt there is an entire unit on spontaneous delight! I think it's more for the parents becasue kids have that one down. Any who whn I saw all of them covered in mud. I knew it was camera time and we would think about the mess later, after all they are outside1
Chris was on a shoot with our cameras so we had to make the little point and shoot suffice!
I love me a little girl who's not afraid to get messy.

Always wanting to practice his letters, Statt is not about to miss an opportunity to do it in MUD!
I was finally smart enough to give them a bucket to wash their hands off in instead of the pool!
Their eyes say, "Yea, we did that!"
The girls did this all by themselves. While spraying off the boys I look over to see these cute buns all laying out in the sun. LOVE THEM
C and S were making the garbage truck eat grass. Then they ripped off all my beautiful roses and were making mud/flower/grass pies in bowls. The joys of spontaneous delight, right?
When Chris got home this evening Statt went running up to him and said,
"DAD, I HAD SOOO MUCH FUN TODAY!"
General Conference
Here they are already for conference! They did great considering it's 8 hours of adult focused television. Statton knows all the apostles by name and I love hear in him shout out, "It's Elder ...!". Then if he knows anything about their background he'll tell us that too. There were so many talks that I felt were meant just for me to hear.
Favorite quote of the weekend went to Statton though, "Mom this is how it always feels when we watch conference." Me, "Like what?" S, "Like we're snuggling!" Yep, I teared up.
